Hasan Banu, a 67-year-old resident of Hulain village in Habilasdwip Union, has spent most of her life as a devoted housewife. A mother of six, two sons and four daughters, she relied solely on her husband’s income to support their family. For nearly six years, however, Hasan Banu struggled with vision loss in her right eye, which made daily tasks difficult and left her increasingly dependent on others.
The PROTTYASHI Samriddhi program, with financial support from PKSF, organized an eye camp that transformed her life. At the camp, she received a medical consultation and was diagnosed with cataracts. She underwent free cataract surgery, a life-changing opportunity.
Today, Hasan Banu can see clearly again. Her restored vision has given her not only improved health but also renewed independence and the ability to contribute actively to her household. Her story is a powerful reminder of how accessible healthcare can transform lives, especially for the elderly in underserved communities.
