Dr. Nasir Uddin is a science driven development professional with over 14 years of experience in program design, strategic management, partnership development, volunteer mobilization, and results-based monitoring and evaluation. As Deputy Assistant Director (Program) at PROTTYASHI, he leads the development and implementation of innovative development and humanitarian initiatives, fostering collaboration among government agencies, development partners, academia, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders.

Dr. Uddin earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University(CVASU), completed postgraduate studies in Criminology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and obtained his PhD in Ecology from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. His multidisciplinary academic background integrates scientific research, policy analysis, and development practice to address complex social and environmental challenges.

His expertise spans disaster risk management, emergency preparedness and response, volunteer mobilization and management, environmental conservation, climate change adaptation, biodiversity conservation, youth and community development, safe migration and counter-trafficking, public health, and resilience building. Throughout his career, he has designed and managed multi-sectoral multi million dollar programs, developed strategic partnerships, strengthened institutional capacities, and established evidence-based monitoring systems that deliver measurable and sustainable results.

Prior to joining PROTTYASHI, Dr. Uddin worked with the United States Department of Justice, DAI, Panthera, icddr,b, WildTeam, and Muktir Bondhon Foundation. He has extensive professional experience across Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, India, Nepal, and Malaysia, contributing to research, policy development, disaster preparedness initiatives, community engagement, volunteer management systems, Biodiversity Conservation and program leadership in diverse development contexts.

Driven by a commitment to sustainable development and humanitarian action, Dr. Uddin continues to champion innovative solutions that strengthen community resilience, empower youth, and support inclusive and sustainable development.
