A Safe Migration Orientation was held, June 17, 2026, at the Upazila Parishad Conference Hall in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila with the participation of local government representatives from various unions.
The orientation was chaired by Mr. Bashir Ahmed Moni, Project Manager of PROTTYASHI’s SIMS Project. The event was attended by Ms. Tahmina Akter, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Liton Kanti Chowdhury, Assistant Director of the District Employment and Manpower Office, as the Special Guest.
The session was facilitated by Ms. Rashida Khatun, District Coordinator of the SIMS Project, and Ms. Tawhida Jannat Shimu, Project Officer. Also present were Dr. M. Shahanul Islam, MEL Focal of PROTTYASHI, Md. Nahidul Alam, Upazila Coordinator, along with Union Parishad Chairpersons, Panel Chairpersons, UP Members, administrative officials, UDC representatives, and media personnel from different unions.
The orientation provided participants with comprehensive information on skills development, migration through legal channels, visa verification procedures, and various government services available to prospective migrants. The Social Mobilizers of the SIMS Project in Sadar Upazila provided overall support in organizing the event.
