Major Achievements

923

beneficiaries (528 male, 395 female) were supported in establishing or enhancing aquaculture enterprises in Cox’s Bazar.

Enhanced financial inclusion for small-scale aquaculture actors through access to affordable credit.

Improved productivity and sustainability of aquaculture practices through skill development and local support networks.

Contributed to food and nutrition security by promoting nutrition-sensitive aquaculture models in targeted communities.

Formation of credit groups for financial access and organization of market linkage events.

Adoption of nutrition-sensitive aquaculture by 573 old and 186 new farmers.

Establishment of carp hatcheries and community feed mills.

Major Activities

Identified and supported local service providers including fish nurseries, Patilwala, feed agents, and traders to capacitate farmers and serve as key intermediaries between farmers and the aquaculture market.

Introduced loan facilities—up to BDT 100,000 for LSPs and BDT 40,000 for farmers—to foster commercial aquaculture businesses and enhance production capacity.

Technical training programs on aquaculture improvement, shrimp culture, carp fattening, and nutrition-sensitive practices has been provided to farmers. Besides, delivered training and mentorship to farmers on aquaculture business operations, enterprise management, and market linkage strategies through LSPs.

Facilitated coordination among actors across the aquaculture value chain to improve access to quality inputs, services, and profitable markets.
